In the general commercial arena, Chris has worked with a broad range of medium and large companies on matters including start-ups, joint ventures, restructuring, property contracts, commercial leasing, intellectual property, business acquisitions and sales, and mergers.
He also has substantial knowledge and experience in banking and finance, as well as insolvency and recovery, having worked with banks, finance companies and equity lenders, and been involved in a number of high-profile insolvencies.
Chris has contributed to the bank of documents which The Law Association (TLA) sells to other lawyers. Chris is the author of the standard franchise, license, and shareholders agreements, and the agreement for sale and purchase of shares.
Working closely with a specialist tax advisor Chris revised The Law Association’s template Sale and Purchase of a Business form. This form is used in most business sale transactions across New Zealand.
Chris is on the boards of Macular Degeneration New Zealand and Warkworth Golf Club.
